Questions for wise decisions



Will my action be against scriptural commands or principles? (Prov 19:16; Jn 14:15, 21, 23)

Will my action be against Christ’s Lordship? (Lk 6:46; 1 Cor 6:19-20)

Will my action be consistent with biblical example? (1 Cor 11:1; Phil 4:9)

Will my action bring honor and praise to God? (1 Cor 10:31)

Will my action set me apart as a child of God who is called to be holy? (1 Pet 1:14-16)

Will my action compromise my reputation, and Christ’s, by giving the appearance of evil? (Prov 22:1 & Eph 5:3)

Will my action put me closer to or farther from a potentially dangerous situation? (Prov 4:14-15; 1 Cor 6:18)

Will my action lead to enslavement? (1 Cor 6:12; 9:27)

Will my action put me in situations where I could possibly be dragged down in my relationship with Christ, rather than built up? (1 Cor 15:33)

Will my action, no matter how innocent it seems, have the potential to result in devastating consequences? (Prov 14:12; 1 Cor 10:12)

Will my action send wrong signals to younger Christians who are watching, and possibly copying my behavior? (1 Cor 8:9)

Will my action be helpful to others? (1 Cor 10:23-24; 33)

Will my action, though it may not be sinful, be wise? (Prov 1:5; 4:7; 9:10; 19:8)

Will my action reflect a sincere belief that God will meet my needs, or is an example of mistrust and self-help? (Prov 3:5-6; Phil 4:19)

Will my action be favored by older and wiser Christians? (Prov 12:15; 15:12, 14; 24:6)
