Find Us Faithful ~ In Memory of Lisa Knode

Lisa M. Knode, 45, beloved wife of Bill for 23 years, went into the presence of her Lord and Savior after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 17, 2007.



She will be remembered for her effervescent personality, her kindness and a willingness to lend a helping hand and a word of encouragement to all.

She devoted her life to sharing the Lord Jesus Christ wherever she was.

"Maybe you are one of those that she shared with and you did not accept Christ. Life is not guaranteed but death is. You are the only one who can determine where you will spend eternity--heaven or hell. Her desire was that none would perish. Will you perish?"

She was a member of our Lord Jesus Christ's family--the love she had for her savior was always evident. Lisa was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Ladysmith, a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church, Bowie, Md., Colonial Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, where she served as a ladies and teen Sunday school teacher and was an Awana youth leader.

Lisa also was a faithful Navy wife and was always the devoted mother to her children.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; four sons, Rocky Edwards Knode and his wife, Natasha, of Clovis, N.M., Philip Knode and his fiancee, Tanya Stoughtenger, Samuel Knode and Luke Knode, all of Bowling Green; her mother, Lee Wilkins and her husband, Chuck, of Arizona; two sisters, Laurie Schultz of New York and LeeAnn Gutt of Illinois; three brothers, Ron Luensman of Arizona, Patrick Luensman of California and Vince Luensman of California.

Man is indestructable until he has finished God's work

"A little more than two weeks ago, the founder of the Moral Majority preached of man being indestructible until he has finished God's work, then told churchgoers he was at peace with death.

On the day before he died, Falwell called his son and asked him to take a drive up the mountain that overlooks Liberty University, where he posed for pictures near a new, massive "LU" logo with students from the school he built.

"He said he was feeling better than he'd felt in awhile," Jerry Falwell Jr. said. "He'd been feeling kind of tired in the past two weeks."

On Tuesday morning, the 73-year-old Falwell was discovered without a pulse in his office at Liberty and pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour later. Dr. Carl Moore, Falwell's physician, said he had a heart condition and presumably died of a heart rhythm abnormality."

In memory of Johnny Hart 1931 - 2007

"The world has just lost a cartooning giant. Johnny Hart was one of the masters. His humor and drawing style influenced my generation of cartoonists but it was how he wove his faith into his work that inspired me most. The Bible says that God knows the plans he has for us. Johnny discovered early in life what God's plan was for him and he fulfilled that plan. Well done, Johnny." ~ Gary Varvel

Words of Encouragement from a Finisher

"For most of my Christian life I have wanted to see Jesus face-to-face, to join in with the heavenly chorus in his presence around his royal throne and declare his praise in new ways. Something else has grown through the years: an abiding sense that this is not for me alone. Being with Jesus by myself is not what he wants nor is it what I want. To be there with you all, those he loves and those I have come to love, that is true joy. I have often thought of coming to heaven as Jesus standing at the finish line of a race awaiting those looking for him, trusting in him, pursuing him. But it isn't a race for me to finish first or alone. It has always been a race for us to finish together, arm in arm, having encouraged one another in faith." ~ Al Groves, former Professor at Westminister Seminary, finished his race - Feb 5, 2007 (visit his blog).
